Marigold and her husband, Christopher, live in an enchanted world populated by characters such as Sleeping Beauty and Alison Wonderland. It's a world of fairy tales, magic, and happy endings-which is why no one expected Marigold's evil mother, Queen Olympia, to survive her fall into Beaurivage's river. But survive she did, and now she's back, ready to reclaim her throne and put Marigold's kindly father, King Swithbert, on the chopping block.
Summary It’s been a blissfully peaceful year since Marigold’s evil stepmother, Olympia, fell into the river and disappeared without a trace. Happily married, Marigold and Christian have been competently ruling Zandelphia while sweet-natured King Swithbert has been running things in Beaurivage. Suddenly, a wave of negative energy sweeps the area, resulting in arguments between friends and lots of bad feelings. At the same time, Olympia, who has been suffering from amnesia, regains her memory and returns to Beaurivage. Determined to seize control of the kingdom, she’s willing to use whatever means are necessary, including blackmail, imprisonment, and even murder. When Swithbert is arrested for treason, Marigold and Christian must find a way to save the king—and all of Beaurivage—from Olympia’s evil clutches.
