The Buddha’s Diamonds

Every day, Tinh goes out fishing with his father to provide food for the family and to earn money at the market of their tiny Vietnamese village. Tinh wants to make Ba proud and hopes that one day he will inherit the boat. When a terrifying storm hits, Ba expects him to secure their boat. Instead, Tinh leaves it on the beach, where an enormous wave has tossed it, and runs away from the raging ocean. Tinh feels guilty that he wasn't more responsible.
