Vivi is dizzy with wanting pink." She wants pink hair bows, pink bags, pink shoes-just like the three girls at her school she calls "the Pinks." And when Vivi sees the perfect pink doll at the toy store, she has to have it. Her family can't afford the doll, so Vivi runs errands and does chores to earn enough money to buy it. But can a doll, perfect pink though it may be, really fulfill her dreams? Full-color digital illustrations.
Summary Vivi dreams of having pink things—the perfect pinks, the kind Merrillee, Miranda, and Janine always have. But Vivi’s family cannot afford the same things the families of the Pinks can. One day Vivi sees the perfect pink doll in a toy store, and she sets her mind on buying it when she has saved enough. She even tells the Pinks about the doll she will have. One day Vivi’s parents give her a pink day, with pink food and drink, pink flowers, and a pink blanket. Then Vivi and her parents go to My Little Darling just in time to see Merrillee leaving the store with the pink doll. Vivi is sad, but her dad cheers her up with a song and teaches her that you can’t have everything. As the sky glows pink and Vivi snuggles close to dad, she realizes that she has everything she really wants.
