No Small Thing

When Nat and his sisters discover an ad that reads: "Pony to give away to good home. Call after 4 P.M.," all three feel an instant longing. With little complaint they make the hours-long walk to the farm where Smokey lives and tell the owner they will take the young stallion-even though they have no idea how they will take care of the pony, or what their mother will say when she finds out.
