Johnny Maxwell is doing a school project on the Second World War about a German bomb strike in his hometown: "Nineteen people got killed! In one night! There wasn't any warning!" Then, due to a strange encounter with a mysterious time-filled shopping cart, Johnny finds himself in 1941, just before the bomb is about to fall. This leaves Johnny with a dilemma: Can he save people from the attack? And should he meddle with history?

Summary A blast in 1941 sends an injured and dazed Mrs. Tachyon to 1996, where Johnny and his friends take her to a hospital and hold her shopping cart for her. Johnny soon discovers that the plastic bags in the cart are full of time, allowing travel between the past and present/future. Time travel has its problems, as Johnny and his friends find out. It is hard to control, and home doesn’t ever seem quite the same upon your return to the present. Occasionally, Wobbler learns, you change the past so much you can’t return at all—unless someone like Johnny is willing to go back again and make things right.
