Thirteen-year-old Meggie Folchart and her father share a magical ability: They can bring characters out of books and into the real world. Then a boy named Farid comes to Meggie begging her to read him back into his story, the Inkheart. Meggie’s desire to see the beautiful and dangerous world she’s heard so much about overwhelms her good sense, and she decides to go along.
