Follow It! Learn about Shadows

Explaining features of light and dark that might puzzle children, this title’s clear, playful writing is a delight. The verso of each spread describes simple scientific principles such as how shadows are made, why they’re absent on cloudy days, and why they change in length throughout the day. Also described are phenomena that children may never have thought of as shadows—shade (“.just big shadows”) and night. Opposite each page of text is a large photograph showing children or objects with the size or type of shadow in question.
