Clever Beatrice and the Best Little Pony

One morining Beatrice, the cleverest girl in the north woods, finds her pony, Trefflé, exhausted and covered in mud and burrs. Beatrice suspects someone has been riding him during the night. She consults the new bread maker from Quebec, whose sign reads: "Fresh Bread & All Things Not Easily Explained." He warns her about the troublesome lutin, an elf-like creature known to steal ponies.
