Bean Thirteen

One warm summer night two bugs, Ralph and Flora, pick beans for dinner. They already have twelve when Flora decides to pick just one more. "Don't do it!" Ralph shouts. "Thirteen is an unlucky number." Flora ignores his warning only to find that thirteen is trouble. She makes two piles with six beans each, but there is a bean left over. They invite a friend to join them. Even with three piles, there's an extra. Will they ever get rid of the thirteenth bean? Full-color illustrations.
